The city was founded on 27 May 1703 and it was built by the Swedish prisoners of the Great Northern War, the city has served as capital city of Russian Empire. Saint Petersburg has a important role in the history of Russia, a number of revolutions in the past have taken shape in the city.

Rail:- With five railway terminals, St. Petersburg is often the final destination of most of the suburban railways. The city also is also connected with international destinations by the railway line. There is a Moscow – Saint Petersburg Railway is operational since 1851 and High-speed trains are also available for this route. One can take Metro to reach the stadium and the nearest metro station to Saint Petersburg Stadium is Krestovsky Ostrov which is on the Purple Line 5 and thereafter one needs to walk for about half an hour to reach the stadium.

Road:- The public transport system primarily includes Tram, buses and trolleybus lines. You can reach St. Petersburg by bus and the best bus to take would be either of Bus No. 10 or 25. One needs to walk for about 15-20 minutes to reach the stadium.

Air:- The city is served by Pulkovo International Airport, however, it the stadium is about 50 Kms away from the Airport.
